Troubleshooting Google Sheets Import — Fix Connection Issues
Fix Google Sheets import problems in Unsheet: permission errors, invalid Sheet IDs, empty sheets, and expired tokens. Solutions for every issue.
In this guide
Permission Denied
Error: "Google Sheets API error: The caller does not have permission"
Fix:
- Make sure the Google Sheet is shared with your Google account (the one you signed into Unsheet with)
- If the sheet is in someone else's Drive, ask them to share it with you
- Try signing out of Unsheet and signing back in to refresh your Google permissions
Invalid Sheet ID
Error: "Google Sheets API error: Requested entity was not found"
Fix: Double-check the URL you pasted. The Sheet ID is the long string between /d/ and /edit in the URL:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ABC123xyz/editExpired Session
If your Google Sheets import was working before but now fails, your OAuth token may have expired.
Fix: Sign out of Unsheet and sign back in. This refreshes your Google access token.
