Troubleshooting File Uploads — Fix Common Upload Issues

Error: "Unsupported file format. Please upload CSV or Excel."

Fix: Unsheet accepts .xlsx and .csv only. If your file is:

• .xls → Open in Excel and Save As .xlsx
• .ods → Open in LibreOffice/Excel and Save As .xlsx
• .numbers → Open in Numbers and Export as .xlsx

Error: "File too large. Maximum size is 10MB."

Fix: Reduce your file size by:

• Removing unused sheets (tabs)
• Deleting empty rows and columns beyond your data range
• Removing embedded images or objects
• Splitting into multiple smaller files

Error: "Failed to parse file"

Fix: The file might be corrupted or password-protected. Try:

• Opening the file in Excel, then Save As a new .xlsx
• Removing password protection
• Checking that the file has at least a header row and one data row

Error: "AI failed to generate a valid UI schema" or "AI processing failed"

Fix: This is usually a temporary issue with the AI service. Try:

• Uploading the file again (the AI service may have been rate-limited)
• If the error persists, the fallback generator will create a basic table view
